OVERVIEW

The MySpace Video In-Stream product has three possible components which can be served together in one video content stream. The way this is currently packaged, the seller would choose one of two configurations, shown below. Also, companion ads will accompany the in-stream video components, both 728x90 and 300x250 banners are required for the Run Of Branded Channel package. The advertiser may only supply one of the two companion banners if this is sold as a specific sponsorship.

In-Stream Ad Specs Defined

Pre-Roll/Post-Roll/Overlay Videos Specs:

  • :05 second Pre-Roll for Originals/Sponsorships
  • :15 second Pre-Roll for Run Of Branded Channel
  • :15-:60 seconds recommended for Overlay video
  • :15-:60 seconds recommended for Postroll video
  • Minimum Dimensions: 480x360 px for 4:3 (or a 16:9 cut video can be letterboxed into 4:3)
  • Formats Accepted: MP4 or FLV
  • 3rd Party served: Yes; Support for 3rd party in-stream ad serving via VAST
  • 3rd Party pixel tracked: Yes
  • Minimum Frame Rate: 24 fps
  • Minimum Bit Rate: 200 kbps


Overlay Unit Specs:

Default Behavior:

  • Appears :05 seconds into the video
  • Appears centered along the bottom of the player content stream
  • Remains visible for :10 seconds
  • Clicking on the initial expansion unit will launch the advertiser overlay video as defined above
  • Advertiser video is clickable to the advertiser website along with a Visit Site link
  • If there is no click on the initial expansion unit, the overlay automatically minimizes to the left to leave behind unit (and 50x40 leave behind unit if applicable)
  • The leave behind unit contains a link to re-open the initial expansion and a link to close out the unit completely

  • Creative size: 480x70 px
  • Max. animation time of initial expansion: :10 seconds
  • Looping: Initial expansion may loop 2 times
  • Formats Accepted: SWF
  • Fonts Required: Yes
  • Original FLA Required: Yes
  • Opacity: 70-100% (we apply this on our end)
  • 3rd Party served: No
  • 3rd Party pixel tracked: Yes
  • Framerate: 25 fps
  • Close Button: We will add the close button to the initial expansion creative
  • Leave Behind unit is optional: 50x40 px

Companion Ad Units (and all display units)

  • Dimensions: 300x250 and 728x90
  • File Weight: 50K maximum each
  • Formats Accepted: GIF, JPG, up to Flash 10, HTML, JavaScript, Rich Media
  • Polite Download Accepted: Yes
  • Expansion Allowed: Yes (Expansion must never cover any portion of the video player.)
  • No Spawned Surveys allowed on pages with a video player
  • 3rd Party Served: Yes
  • 3rd Party Pixel Tracked: Yes
  • No auto-play sound. User must click creative to initiate sound.
  • No auto-play video. User must click creative to initiate video.
  • Expand: No on-hover interaction. User must click creative to expand.
  • Expand: Must have a clear CLOSE option.
  • No Floating Ads anywhere on MySpace Video, especially on pages with any video player.
  • Looping: Creative can loop a maximum of 3 times within a :30 second time frame.

MySpace Overlay/Pre-Roll/Post-Roll Production

For instances where the client or agency is unable to produce the in-stream asset, MySpace will be able to create these units for the campaign. Construction of these assets may incur additional fees or CPM uplifts. In addition to the above requirements, MySpace will ask for the following:

  • 2 sentences of copy, first sentence 20 characters, second sentence 10 characters
  • Brand logo
  • Suggested color scheme
  • Suggested copy
  • Any mock ups of current promotional material that will aid in the overlay production


Turnaround Times for In-Stream Units

  • Video Pre-Roll/Post-Roll: 2 days to test + revisions if any
  • Standard JPG/GIF overlay with Video: 2 days for compilation, testing, revisions + approval
  • Premium SWF/FLA-Based Overlay with Video: 4 days for compilation, testing, revisions + approval
  • MySpace Production for Creatives: Please allow a minimum of 4 days
  • MySpace Production for Overlays: Please allow a minimum of 4 days
